Intergenerational Play opportunities
Our connection with the wider Community Vision team means that we’re able to introduce intergenerational play into our programs. Intergenerational play is known to benefit young children by giving them opportunities to grow their interpersonal and social skills. Our Intergenerational Program is run by FDC coordinators, Community Vision Support Workers and Volunteers.
As a family day care provider we are committed to providing the power of community-based support to early childhood learning and development. We truly embrace the saying “it takes a village to raise a child” and believe that our Family Day Care services are at the heart of this belief. We have a strong emphasis on pairing energetic, committed and passionate childcare professionals with families in need of a safe, happy and healthy environment for their little ones.
We equip and support our Educators with the tools and guidance they need to help children develop a strong sense of identity and well-being, whilst encouraging each child to reach their individual potential at every stage of their learning journey at their own pace. Actively promoting nurturing, home-based care environments, we embed the Early Years Learning Framework into activities which help to build confident, creative, active and informed young people. “Belonging, being and becoming” – the EYLF is central to what we do.
We provide opportunities for self-choice, intentional teaching and spontaneous experiences within a flexible, fun and play-based curriculum that will support each child’s differing style of learning. Children feel happy, safe and engaged and we place a strong emphasis in supporting and promoting individual and cultural diversity. Our Educators are truly valued members of our community and we are committed to support them with ongoing training, mentoring and socialising opportunities as part of our FDC program. The thread that ties our philosophy together is connection – with ourselves, with each other and with our communities.
